FOR OVER 20 YEARS...
The IceCats were founded in 2003 as part of the men's ice hockey club Tornados Linz. Since then, they have continued to develop both athletically and organizationally.
The next important step was the emancipation from the Tornados in Spring 2014 including the founding of an independent association – of the DHC IceCats Linz.
In summer 2020, the IceCats and Linz AG entered into a partnership. The IceCats are also part of SPORTUNION and are therefore called SU DHC Icecats Linz AG.
The IceCats are the first and only women's ice hockey club in Linz and Upper Austria. As an association under the Association Act, they are transparently structured with a board of directors currently consisting of nine people and an auditing body.
Both the adult and junior sections are represented on the board with voting rights. The association's bodies are almost gender-neutral overall, with five women and six men sharing responsibility.

With almost 90 active girls and women as well as numerous supporting members, the IcecCats are also the women's ice hockey club with the most members in Austria, with over 100 members!

Women's ice hockey has a positive image . Honest sport based on hard training combined with courage and perspective shape the image that the public rightly has of women's ice hockey.

Not least due to their own successes and the popularity of ice hockey in 2012 , after the Black Wings second championship title, the IceCats started their own youth program as another outstanding event in their club's history.
This very successful youth program for ice hockey-loving girls of all ages, of which we are rightly particularly proud, is unique in Austria!
